Code of Conduct
The shared standards that keep our community safe, respectful and trustworthy.
Respectful behaviour expectations
Everyone connected to Authority House — participants, parents, mentors, volunteers and partners — is expected to treat others with respect, kindness and honesty. Behaviour that is abusive, harassing, discriminatory or exploitative is not tolerated.
Boundaries for mentors and leaders
- •Maintain appropriate professional and personal boundaries
- •No private or hidden one-on-one contact with a young person
- •Communicate through approved channels and in accountable settings
- •Never take on a counselling or crisis-support role — connect people to professional help
Expectations for participants, parents, volunteers and partners
- •Participants: engage respectfully, follow leader guidance, and help create a safe community
- •Parents and carers: provide accurate information and consent for under-18s
- •Volunteers: serve within your role, screening and training
- •Partners: uphold shared safeguarding and conduct standards
Consequences and reporting process
Breaches of this Code may result in someone being removed from a program or a partnership ending. Concerns can be raised through our Contact & Reporting page. We take every report seriously, handle it with care, and act promptly.
